The assertive tone of that original piece of propaganda was the impetus behind Boo Deity’s “Aunt Sam – I Want You.” Does re-painting history, where icons are women, not men, change the meaning of the artwork?

This work was done in response to the US Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v. Wade. Deity lives in Cincinnati, OH, where women’s rights are often bypassed as hysteria, however, this artwork invites you to RAGE. Rage against the status quo. Rage against the decisions that be.
